F Identifying Physical Locations of the Logical Cage
Numbers
Use the following CLI commands to identify the physical locations of the logical cage numbers.
Enter the numbers into the diagram below and then store them on the storage system admin volume
by following these instructions.
1. Issue showcage to display the drive cage numbers/names
2. Issue locatecage cage<n> where cage<n> is the drive cage number/name, to blink the
LEDs on the front of the drive cage. This will be performed one cage at a time.
3. Once the physical location of the drive cage is identified, make a note of the drive cage
number on a separate paper for reference during servicing.
NOTE: Table below provides example of drive cage numbering.

4. Issue setcage position "Rack<xx> Rack-Unit<yy>" cage<n>, where <xx> is the
rack designator (00 is the main rack which has nodes, and 01 or higher are expansion
cabinets), <yy> is the Rack-Unit number in the rack (e.g., 1 50) at the bottom of the drive
cage, and cage <n> is the logical drive cage number/name.
5. Issue showcage -d cage<n> to verify these settings.
6. Repeat for each drive cage displayed in step 1.
7. Exit and logout of the SPMAINT session.
