Using Palettes
The Traditional Chine se Input Method provides a nu
m
ber of palettes that help you locate,
select, and enter the characters, punctuation
m
ar ks, nu
m
bers, and sy
m
bols that you want to
use in your docu
m
ents.
Using the Input Palette and Inline Input
Many app lications let yo u enter characters using
inline input.
W
ith in line input, you type th e
characters directly into the docu
m
ent. As you type, a line appears under the characters to
indicate that they have not been entered into the docu
m
ent.
S
o
m
e applications do not allow you to use inline input, so you
m
ust use th e input palette.
You
m
ay also s ee the input palette when you enter characters in a text box in a dialog b ox.
The input palette appears auto
m
atically when you start typing the keys to enter a Chinese
character. If it appears, you can continu e typing as though you were typing in the docu
m
ent
window.
W
hen you are ready to en ter a ch aracter into the docu
m
ent or dialog box, press the
S
pace bar,
R
eturn, or Enter.
Note:
The selection palette appears if
m
ore than one character
m
atches the keys you
entered.

enu at the right of t he input palette to choose a font for the palette.

e you enter a character. If you want to keep it open all
