Using the Selection Palette
The

plified Chinese Input Method provides selection palettes for you to select characters,
punctuation, sy

bols, and sp ecial characters in these cases:

There are several ways you can select characters in the palettes and enter the
m
into your
docu
m
ent.
m Click the character.
m Press the
U
p or
D
own Arrow keys to select a d iffere nt row in the palette.
m Press the
L
eft or
R
ight Arrow keys to select adjacent char acters in the palette.
W
hen the character yo u wan t is selected, press the
S
pace bar,
R
eturn, or Enter to enter it
into your docu
m
ent.
m Type the nu
m
ber adjacent to the character, which ente rs the character in your docu
m
ent
and closes the selection palette. T he character
m
ust be on t he row with the currently
selecte d character for a nu
m
ber to appear next to it.
Note:
W
hen you enter a character, the selection palette clos es i

ediately. You can also
press the Esc key or click the clo se box to close the palette.
Using the Operation Palette
You can use the operation palette to perfor

seve ral task s rather than using the

ands.
